For such a small island, Matia is a striking presence---a green-topped tower jutting out from the blue water below. As you approach, you can’t help but marvel at the steep sandstone cliffs, and the towering mass of trees stacked atop them in a way that seems almost precarious.

Tie off at a mooring buoy and make your way up the ramp to the island. Before you do, listen. For such a quiet place, there is so much to hear—the rhythmic sounds of the water lapping against the rocks and sand, peppered with the urgent avian calls, and the wind ceaselessly rushing through the dense tree leaves. As you make your way along through the old-growth forest, you could almost forget you’re on a tiny island in Salish Sea and instead in the midst of the forests of the Washington mainland further east.

Therein lies the magic of Matia. While its components may be familiar, the uncanny combination of the familiar creates a place that feels fantastical. This fragrance is our homage to this otherworldly island.

Matia opens with the inviting scent of Cardamom intermingled with spicy Ginger Blossom, before giving way to the complex notes of Carrot Seed and Geranium. The fragrance is anchored with notes of Patchouli, Leather Accord, and Black Amber. The composite is a deeply intimate fragrance—a salty skin scent that is both familiar and surreal. Like the island itself, the only way to understand Matia is to experience it for yourself.
